THE STORY

There's this cat, his name is Rocco, he's working a dead end job at a call center and is wasting his days away for a check since it's the safe thing to do. He heads home one night after stopping by a convenience store and is crushed by his ceiling at his cheap apartment. His upstairs neighbors get a little rowdy at night and it collapsed on him while he was sleeping.

He's greeted by his spirit guide Enji. This special spirit is usually reserved for rich people, guiding them through life before death, but to keep his spirit guide license he needs to do some pro bono work, so he helps Rocco for free.

He walks Rocco through his past, presenting him with his missed opportunities and lives that he could've had. During this journey, the spirit guide notices that spirits keep going missing from the dream realm.

An unknown force is preventing people from peacefully passing, killing spirit guides and causing strange events in the world. Their motive is currently unknown. Enji doesn't like this because rich people will no longer need his services. As selfish as he is, Enji decides to help guide Rocco and they both try to uncover the mystery that lies ahead.
